Time management when you work from home. Part 4. Batching tasks.
Batching you tasks.
Batch your tasks to increase efficiency and productivity
Ah, the beauty of batching tasks. If you’re not familiar with it, batching is the process of grouping similar tasks together and doing them all at once, rather than scattering them throughout the day.
For example, instead of checking your email every time a new message comes in (which, let’s be honest, can be every five minutes), you can batch your email checking to specific times of the day. This way, you’ll be able to focus on your other tasks without being constantly interrupted by your inbox.
But wait, there’s more! You can batch other tasks too, like making phone calls, running errands, and even doing laundry (if you work from home, that is). By grouping similar tasks together, you’ll be able to complete them more efficiently and save time.
Pro-tip: It’s also helpful to set a time limit for each batch of tasks to keep yourself on track. For example, you can give yourself 30 minutes to respond to emails, then move on to the next batch of tasks.
Trust us, once you start batching your tasks, you’ll wonder how you ever survived without it.
